Spring is here and if you are like me, this is a great time to bring out the light reads and cozy up on a picnic blanket in the grass! If you missed our first post where I recommended a few books to read during the winter time, I highly suggest starting there. I share a bit about my style of reading, what I personally like to read, and what to expect with these kind of posts.
If you are already caught up, let’s go ahead and dive into 5 books I’ve enjoyed reading lately and why you should plan on reading them this spring!
A classically good read for me. They turned this one into a movie, which I didn’t love, so I highly recommend reading the book instead, or at least first! It’s a historical novel that takes place during Nazi Germany. The plot revolves around a young girl named Liesel, and her love for reading. Highly recommend!
I really liked this one from the beginning! I know what you are thinking - a book about a wedding? But to be honest, there really isn’t much talk about weddings at all. Maybe one chapter? So if weddings are too sappy for you, don’t run away. It is a pretty fun book to read, I think I read a good portion of it in one day? It’s about a group of crazy friends from high school that reunite one weekend in France. Of course the ending blindsided me, but hey…that’s pretty much how all books are! Ha!
I wasn’t sure about this book when I first started. It had a slow start for me, but as I got into it, I really got into it! It’s a dramatic mystery book set in England about a crime that is committed on stage during a play, It can be quite funny and charming at times too, which can be a nice escape from the murder and mystery plot.
The Bookshop on the Corner is such a cute and fun read. It really plays into the life of a true “book nerd.” It takes place in the UK and is about a girl named Nina, who is 29 and is at a crossroads. It’s light, funny and a super easy read. I say give it a try!
I’m not one to purchase a book to keep around (I am a big library fan!), but this is one to purchase. After I read this, I knew that I needed to share this one with you. I highly recommend this book to any and every one who has ever dieted and failed to achieve the results they were after (which, let’s be honest, we all have). We are approaching summer and I know that leads to a lot of dieting and negative self talk, but I urge you to take a step back, and read this book! I can’t share enough praise for Intuitive Eating.
Happy reading friends! What are you reading this spring? I’d love to hear! Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
